About us

Our Inspiration

Utsav (Hindi word) is derived from the Sanskrit word, Utsava. Utsava generally means a festival or celebration or any joyous occasion. It also carries the meaning of delight, merriment and pleasure. The Sanskrit word Utsava comes from the word "ut" meaning "removal" and "sava" which means "worldly sorrows" or "grief".

Who We Are

The Toronto Utsav Cultural Association is a non-profit organization registered in Canada for those who appreciate Indian culture and as such welcomes members from every nationality, race and religion.
Indian culture is rich and vibrant, and we aim to share this through cultural events, exhibitions, get-togethers and much more.

What we do

Our endeavor is to promote knowledge and understanding in Canada of Indian culture, including India’s history, institutions, way of life, language and wider contribution to civilization. We would like to support closer community relationships and to develop better linkage with other ethno-cultural groups and organizations by sharing the positive influences Indian culture has had upon the development of our society. We will organize cultural events encompassing Bengali and other Indian traditional and contemporary songs, drama and dances. Our aim is to engage and educate youths and young people especially children in teaching principles of social inclusion and shared tradition, and to increase Indian cultural awareness and diversity in Greater Toronto Area.

Event Sponsors

We express our deepest gratitude to our friends and partners whose invaluable contributions have vastly catalyzed our efforts.
